What is a Tesla Pill?

The “Tesla pill” is MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine) in pill form, with the Tesla logo imprinted upon the surface. Otherwise known as ‘ecstasy’ or ‘molly’, MDMA is a potent, synthetic stimulant drug popular among young people, and commonly used at parties and clubs for recreational purposes. Aside from being a stimulant, ecstasy has hallucinogenic properties.

Produced illicitly, Tesla pills have the ‘T’ logo of Tesla imprinted on them to make them look safe, trustworthy, and attractive, although they have absolutely nothing to do with the Tesla energy company. These pills have become increasingly popular as they are usually more potent than regular MDMA pills, causing a greater sense of euphoria.

What Does Tesla Ecstasy Look Like?

Tesla pills aren’t regulated, so they may all look a little different. Generally, they are rounded and come in two colors: orange Tesla and blue Tesla. The orange Tesla pill is usually thicker, with a higher concentration of MDMA, whereas the blue Tesla pill is somewhat thinner and less potent.

However, the Tesla drug is produced illegally without any regulations, so not only is the appearance different by each drug, but the content is different, too. Many Tesla pills are cut with heroin, cocaine, ketamine, and other drugs to increase potency and inflate drug dealers’ profits.

This, however, poses a great danger, as Tesla pills have an unpredictable effect on the user’s body. It’s impossible to know the content of every Tesla pill, which means that it’s impossible to predict the effects it can have on the user.

Are Ecstasy and Tesla pills the Same?

Although both pills are essentially MDMA, it’s difficult to compare any two illicit drugs since they aren’t regulated by any governing body. This means that even two Tesla pills may have different levels of MDMA potency, so, of course, regular MDMA pills are different from Tesla pills.

It is generally understood in the world of illicit MDMA users that Tesla pills are more potent since they produce elevated levels of euphoria in comparison to regular ecstasy pills. On the other hand, it has been reported that the withdrawal symptoms after the effects of a Tesla pill wear off are more severe than the withdrawal from other MDMA pills.

Side Effects of the Tesla Pill

Users of the Tesla pill report greater feelings of euphoria than other MDMA pills. The pill causes an increase in the release of serotonin- the hormone in the brain associated with pleasure and reward- so the user experiences sensations of happiness, euphoria, and overall enhanced well-being. These effects can last anywhere between 3 to 6 hours, although users may consume more pills in the interim to prolong the effects.

Some of the short-term and long-term effects of Tesla pills on the brain and body are:

  • Distorted perception of time and space
  • Increased heart rate
  • Elevated blood pressure
  • Dehydration
  • Paranoia and panic attacks
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Increase in body temperature
  • Irritability and aggression
  • Loss of appetite
  • Decrease in ability to feel pleasure
  • Confusion
  • Memory problems
  • Insomnia

Dangers of the Tesla Ecstasy Pill

The physical danger of using Tesla pills at a club or party is enormous. The pills may cause dangerously elevated body temperature, which, after dancing in a hot room for some time, can be deadly. The pills also affect the functioning of the liver, kidneys, and heart due to the dysregulation of body temperature.

Tesla pills trigger the release of serotonin in the brain, which causes the user to experience pleasurable feelings. If a person consumes Tesla pills regularly to produce the same effect, the brain starts to develop tolerance to the pill, which means that an increased dosage is needed to produce the same effect as previously.

At the same time, the body develops dependence on the drug, which means that it cannot function optimally without a regular fix of the pills. Ultimately, this process leads to addiction, where the user can no longer control themselves from taking the pills regularly in order to merely function normally.

Tesla Pills Addiction

Addiction is characterized by the inability to stop using the drug regardless of the adverse emotional, physical, and psychological effects and by withdrawal symptoms that are felt once the effects of the drug wear off (this occurs because the body has developed tolerance to the drug and has to adapt to functioning without it once the effects wear off).

It is worthwhile to note that consuming Tesla pills occasionally (although not ideal, as it can certainly become a habit) may not necessarily lead to addiction, and the short-term negative effects will pass. However, for chronic users, the damage is far greater, and sometimes even permanent.
