Travis Williams serves as the Operations Manager at Avenues Recovery Center at Metairie.
Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, Travis attended Southern University to pursue a degree in Psychology, and is entering college in the fall to pursue an Associate's degree in Business Administration.
He entered the addiction treatment field in 2001 as a manager of a sober living/ halfway home. He then entered Avenues as a BHT, rapidly advancing throughout his 4+ years of service. Although not in recovery himself, he considers himself an ally to the recovery community. He vows to educate the world so that they will also consider addiction an actual disease, and join the fight to keep our family, friends, and community sober. His favorite line to share with patients upon admission is "Keep your head up. When you began to learn how to ride a bike you fell off a few times, but you eventually got it right."
Beyond his professional life, Travis finds joy in spending time with family and friends, traveling, and giving back to his community. He loves contributing and volunteering for charity events, like feeding the homeless or fundraising for broken women and children. It’s the profound love for what we do , and the sheer enthusiasm to keep our patients sober, that keeps him motivated to continue the fight against addiction.
