In a heartbreaking turn of events, 30-year-old Olivia Moore of Beckley, West Virginia, has been arrested in connection with the tragic deaths of her twin babies. Moore faces two counts of child neglect causing death following an incident that has shocked the community.

The devastating incident unfolded on February 28, 2024, when authorities responded to a distressing call reporting unresponsive twin babies in Raleigh County. Upon arrival, troopers found the infants, tragically deceased, with foam emanating from their mouths. Prior to law enforcement's arrival, Moore had moved the twins from a back bedroom to the living room couch.

West Virginia State Police swiftly secured the scene and initiated a thorough investigation, calling in the State Police Crime Scene Team to process the area. Initial checks by the Bradley Volunteer Fire Department for carbon monoxide returned negative results, ruling out that as a cause.

During subsequent interviews conducted at the Beckley Detachment of the West Virginia State Police, Moore recounted that she had been caring for the twins the previous night and into the morning. She noted that around 2 a.m., she noticed something amiss with the infants, though they were still alive at the time.

The gravity of the situation became apparent when the troopers received the twins' death certificates, revealing the presence of ethanol, fentanyl, carfentanil, acetyl fentanyl, lidocaine, quinine, and diphenhydramine intoxication.

Following further investigative efforts, Moore was contacted by troopers on June 10, 2024, and subsequently requested to meet at the Beckley Detachment. Following another interview the next day, Moore was placed under arrest on June 11, 2024.

This tragic case has sent shockwaves through Beckley and beyond, highlighting the devastating consequences of drug misuse and the critical importance of child welfare and safety. The community mourns the loss of the innocent twin girls and awaits further developments in this heartbreaking case.

As the investigation continues, authorities urge anyone with relevant information to come forward. The hope is that justice will be served for the untimely loss of these precious lives.
