A Taneytown man has been taken into custody in Maryland after facing charges related to drug delivery in Hamilton Township, Adams County. The arrest stems from a warrant issued by Pennsylvania State Police for Amir Cole, 25, who had been wanted in connection with felony charges for possession with intent to manufacture or deliver controlled substances.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Cole was arrested on January 28, 2025, when law enforcement officers from multiple departments served the warrant in Taneytown. During the operation, a traffic stop was conducted, and a K9 unit alerted authorities to drugs in the vehicle Cole was driving. Police allegedly discovered 17 grams of suspected cocaine, leading to his immediate detention.

The Evening Sun reported, that following his arrest, a search warrant was executed at a home in Taneytown, where investigators recovered a range of items indicative of illegal drug activity. Authorities found cocaine, marijuana, mushrooms, packing materials, drug paraphernalia, scales, and nearly $4,000 in cash. The search also led to the discovery of two unregistered firearms—ghost guns—along with additional ammunition. The firearms included a 3D-printed Glock-style pistol and an AR-15 pistol, both of which had no serial numbers or manufacturer information. These findings prompted additional charges against Cole, including multiple firearms-related offenses.

Cole was charged with 22 new local offenses in Maryland, including two felony counts of possession of a firearm in drug trafficking crimes and two felony counts of possession of controlled substances with intent to distribute. He is being held without bail at the Carroll County Detention Center. In addition to the Maryland charges, Cole faces charges in Pennsylvania related to alleged drug deliveries made in Hamilton Township in 2023. According to court documents, Cole allegedly sold cocaine and marijuana to an individual in the township during a police operation, and laboratory testing confirmed the substances as illegal drugs.

This latest arrest follows a prior conviction for Cole in 2024. He had pleaded guilty to felony charges of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, stemming from an investigation by the Adams County Drug Task Force. He was sentenced to probation as part of a negotiated plea.

A preliminary hearing for Cole has not yet been scheduled in either Maryland or Pennsylvania. As the case progresses, law enforcement continues to investigate the full scope of his alleged criminal activities.
