Avenues Recovery Center’s upcoming South Bend location is making noise!
Avenues Recovery Center will be opening a new facility in Mishawaka, Indiana, on the site of the former Saint Joseph Rehabilitation Institute.
Avenues has seen approximately 30 referrals per month from the greater South Bend area, and this new residential treatment facility aims to increase easy access to quality care for the entire community. Avenues Recovery Center at South Bend is slated to open June 1st, 2024, and will accept both Medicaid and commercial insurance as well as private pay. The 120-bed facility will begin by accepting 20 patients, and increase slowly as their bandwidth grows.
WSBT 22 News spoke with Whitney Straight, Regional Executive Director of Avenues’ Fort Wayne and Indianapolis locations, about the benefits, level of care, and length of stay that this new facility will bring to the area.
“People get to spend a longer time in treatment here than usual. In this field, people often think that you’re cured after 30 days, but we at Avenues know that’s not true”, shared Straight. “This may be our first facility in South Bend, but our treatment approach is uniform across all facilities, so this is not the first time we’ve done this.”
Avenues anticipates bringing its signature standard of care to the larger Mishawaka and South Bend communities. Addiction is strong – but we are stronger!
