Shortly after opening its doors, Avenues Recovery Center’s newest facility - in Norfolk, Virginia – hosted Danielle Saitta of 3WTKR News.
Located at 1516 Harmon Street, Avenues Recovery Center at Norfolk is the fourteenth facility in a network of drug and alcohol rehabs spanning the United States. It offers detox, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programming, as well as a robust aftercare program and vibrant alumni community to support clients long after graduation. Avenues at Norfolk accepts commercial insurances as well as Medicaid, making recovery possible for anyone who wants it.
Saitta was given a tour of the newly-renovated, 27,000 sq ft facility by Latasha Rice, a graduate of Avenues Recovery Center at Prince Frederick. Rice said that she would not be alive today if not for the Avenues program, which showed her the path to recovery and liberation from her alcohol addiction. After 30 days of inpatient residential treatment, she experienced tremendous improvement emotionally, mentally, and socially, and continued to invest in her sobriety by actively participating in Avenues’ aftercare program.
Today she serves as the intake coordinator at Avenues Recovery Center at Norfolk, and is deeply grateful to be passing on the blessing of recovery to others in need. “For me to be able to come back around and help people the way that I was helped – it means a lot to me,” Rice shared. “I’m here for it, I’m dedicated, I’m committed.”
